ReserveAmerica shows sharp increase in online camping reservations for summer season

(August 1, 2003) — With the Summer camping season in full swing, ReserveAmerica, North America's leading camping reservation and campground management solutions provider, recently announced that nearly 50 percent of all camping reservations are now taking place over the Internet. Through ReserveAmerica's website, campers are able to browse through more than 140,000 campsites and make reservations at their leisure while experiencing high flexibility and convenience.

The trend toward campers preferring the online experience to book their campsite reservation is further underscored by record traffic to ReserveAmerica's websites. In June of 2003, these sites experienced their highest volume month ever, surpassing 52 million page views and more than 1 million unique visitors.

"Up more than 80 percent year over year, we've seen a steady trend as the camping population takes greater advantage of the exceptional experience of our online offerings," said Brock Weatherup, President of ReserveAmerica.

To help manage and facilitate the more than three million reservations and reservations management needs for more than 150,000 campsites each year, ReserveAmerica employs more than 600 full and part-time staff in it's five U.S. based offices located in California, Wisconsin, Texas, New York and Florida, as well as 130 full-time employees in its Toronto based office.

"Online bookings are expected to continue to accelerate due in large part to successful partner marketing designed to drive consumers to the Internet through newsletter programs and increased awareness of the www.ReserveAmerica.com website," said Weatherup.

Unique to the industry, the sole focus of ReserveAmerica's business is providing recreation services to State and Federal agencies. In a recent survey, taken by more than 10,000 campers using the ReserveAmerica reservation systems and services, over 90 percent rated their experience as positive.

"ReserveAmerica's core competency and focus is providing a long-term, stable product to State and Federal agencies," said Weatherup. "For more than 15 years we've enjoyed successful and confident relationships with the our partners and we look forward to expanding those relationships by continuing to demonstrate that we are uniquely qualified to handle the growing demands and technology needs of the camping public."
