Coachmen RV Company introduces amenity-filled Fleelander Class C motorhome

Middlebury, Ind.— Searching for a comfortable, economical way to see the land of the free and the home of the brave? Then climb aboard the new Freelander from Coachmen Recreational Vehicle Company, and begin your journey.

“The Freelander is an amenity-driven motorhome with across-the-board appeal,” said Michael R. Terlep, President of Coachmen Recreational Vehicle Company. “It’s a high-quality coach with a very affordable entry-level price, and it’s designed for first-timers just entering the RV market, as well as RV veterans looking for an economical Class C motorhome filled with features.”

Available on both Ford and Chevy chassis, the Freelander lineup currently features five floor plans, including a 31-footer with a rear king bed. While a king bed is something you might routinely find in a home, it’s almost unheard of in a Class C motorhome. That’s not surprising, however, because the Freelander’s interior is very residential, increasing its comfort factor and family appeal.

The soft, warm colors are pleasing to the eye, while the Even Cool ducted roof air conditioning keeps the interior at a pleasing temperature. And, that’s just the start of the Freelander’s delightful touches of home.

The double-door refrigeratorprovides maximum storage for food and beverages, and includes a convenient refrigerator light for late night snack selections. In the bath, the angled glass shower door is both attractive and easy to clean. The window treatments resemble those found in the finest homes, and include mini-blinds and an optional nightshade for greater privacy.

Keeping the family entertained is simple, thanks to a selection of optional entertainment center packages. A DVD/VCR combo; several flat screen TVs (20”, 24” or 27”); a deluxe AM/FM stereo with cassette, CD player, speakers, wireless headsets and weather band; and an Omni directional satellite TV antenna are among the choices.

Several floor plans offering slideouts extra room to spread out. The double slideout floor plan includes a bedroom slide and offers even more interior space, plus extra storage space throughout the bedroom, highlighted by a floor-to-ceiling wardrobe and drawers. Coming soon is a 29-foot Freelander that will feature an industry first – an enormous, comfortable 80” sofa that will provide far more sleeping and sitting space than standard sofas.

Another important kind of space — storage space — is freely available all around the Freelander as well. There are plenty of overhead cabinets, booth dinette storage, generous wardrobes; even the innovative galley sink design allows for a silverware/utensil drawer handily placed under the sink.

Outside there's ample storage room for gear and supplies. Plus, the storage areas are sealed and watertight, keeping the elements out and belongings dry. “Three floor plans also include our popular cavernous Stow-n-Go garage storage area in the rear,” explained Jon Gallagher, Coachmen’s Class C Sales/Product Manager. “Two gas struts allow the large door to open easily, revealing an abundance of space-filled shelves and pegboard to keep items secure and organized.”

While teh Freelander is designed with the comforts of home, it’s also designed to keep its inhabitants safe. Seat belts are at nearly every fixed seating location, exceeding Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. With the SureLine Electrical Harness, the color-coded wiring is easily serviceable, yet the high quality automotive electrical connectors are wrapped in autoloom protective covering and tucked safely away from road debris. LP gas flows safely through the Duratube copper lines, featuring double flared ends for a tight seal and years of corrosion-free use. And, an LP leak detector, fire extinguisher, smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector are all standard.

In addition, the optional AM/FM stereo-cassette system was specifically designed for an RV, and has large, easy-to-use buttons and knobs so the driver can keep his or her eyes on the road instead of the radio. To enjoy safe, fresh water there's water purifier and dedicated drinking faucet. For a smooth ride, the optional Air Assist Suspension lets the owner adjust his rig for a level ride, helping to prevent uneven tire wear..
