Just about everyone is proud of their town. They get all excited when they see a news item about it in the national media. One way small town leaders show their pride is on the billboards that welcome visitors to the city limits. Here are a few examples.



Everybody is friendly in Gila Bend, Ariz., except for a few crabby folks.

If you live in Chester you are very proud that people drink in their coffee what you or your neighbors make.

In Hungry Horse, Mont., "Dam" is not a swear word.

Sometimes it's hard to come up with a claim to fame. So you just have to go with what you think is the most impressive. Maybe Heather will become Miss America. Now that would be worth bragging about!

Before the present residents of Fossil, Ore., moved in, giant reptiles roamed the area. Now they are gone except in the fuel tanks at the local gas station. But the townfolk are very proud the giant beasts once roamed the local neighborhood.
